2019 Bozymowski School Valentine's Party
On Thursday February 21, 2019 the Sterling Heights Rotary Club hosted their annual John A. Bozymowski School Valentine’s Party for the 22nd year. The John A. Bozymowski school, in Sterling Heights, is part of the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD) and specializes in the education of secondary students with autism. Each year, the Sterling Heights Rotary brings Valentine’s joy to these students as this is the one time all the students gather together for lunch and get to enjoy pizza and pop, provided by the Rotary club. The students look forward to this event every year. Joining the Sterling Heights Rotary club, to put on this great event, was a local group of Kohl’s Cares Volunteers, from the Lakeside Mall Kohl’s store located in Sterling Heights. The event also enjoyed the presence of MISD School Board President John A. Bozymowski, who the school is named after and who is a former member and President of the Sterling Heights Rotary Club. After the students were filled with pizza and pop the Rotary club graced them with 2 Valentine’s themed songs, with a slight Rotary twist. Following the lovely music, the students received custom made t-shirts in which each year as they receive the t-shirts they exchange with the Rotary members beautiful and personalized Valentine’s cards as they show their appreciation. Thank you to the volunteers, Rotary Club members and the teachers at the school who ensure the success of this event each yea

2018 POHI Christmas Party

The Sterling Heights Rotary club gathered on the evening of Friday December 14, 2018 to bring holiday cheer to the youth of the MISD school for Physically or Otherwise Impaired children. The children enjoyed pizza, holiday songs, balloon twisting and fellowship provided by the Sterling Heights Rotary Club. This event has been put on for over 40 years by the club to brighten up the holiday for these youth. After a meal was provided the children had a special guest arrive, Santa! Santa proceeded to provide each child the opportunity to sit on his lap and receive a gift that was purchased by the Rotary club. Each year these families look forward to attending. Thank you to the countless volunteers who supported our efforts. Thank you to  local high school students from our Interact Club (Youth Rotary) located at Henry Ford II High School and Boy Scout Troop 1402 of Fraser MI for their support on hosting an outstanding event.

2018 POHI Holiday Wrapping Party
On Friday December 7, 2018, the Sterling Heights Rotary club gathered together to wrap presents for our annual Holiday party hosted at the Macomb Intermediate School District to benefit their Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired Children. For over 40 years, the club has asked the children to pick their top 3 choices for a Christmas gift. The Sterling Heights Rotary then takes this list and gathers together to shop for the gifts, using funds generated through the various community fundraising activities led by the members of the Sterling Heights Rotary Club. Fun was had by all the Rotarians in attendance as we gathered for friendship and fellowship to wrap presents for these very deserving youths, served by the Macomb Intermediate School District.

2018 Rotary Team Turkey
On Thanksgiving Day 2018, the Sterling Heights Rotary club joined forces, for the first time, with fellow Rotary clubs of Birmingham, Troy, and West Bloomfield to help deliver over 200 dinners to families in need through the Rotary Team Turkey program. The Team Turkey program, which is in its fifth year, strives to provide fresh Thanksgiving dinners for deserving families in Oakland and Macomb counties. In 2018, the Sterling Heights Rotary Club introduced the program to Macomb county, raising over $600 to provide 10 families in Macomb county with a Thanksgiving meal. Members including Clark Andrews, Linda McLaughlin, Todd McKay, Brian May and Robert Dewar helped deliver the food on Thanksgiving morning. Learn more about Team Turkey and how you may be able to help in future years by visiting the website at www.rotaryteamturkey.org.
